No Interim Shelby County Mayor After Commissioners Vote 24 Times
Shelby County Commissioners were set to vote for a candidate to finish A C Wharton’s term as county mayor through August 2010. They voted 24 times, with no luck. Most votes finished with a 5-5 tie between Shelby County Commissioners JW Gibson and Joe Ford. Both candidates for Shelby County Mayor say they have what it takes to move the county forward over the next year and a half. But neither candidate was able to get the seven votes needed to become mayor.
Shelby County commissioners vote to cut their own pay
